Meet Andrew
It's been over 2 decades since I made my first replica of the Native American Flute. I now own many different flutes. Some I've made and others from known flute makers. There's nothing more rewarding than hearing the sounds from a Native American Style Flute.
Many flute players use some type of amplification to enhance the voice of the Native Flute. Among these is attaching a mic either to themselves or on the flute body. The issue was attaching the mic to the flute that was secure without obscuring the looks of the flute.
I designed and 3D printed my first mic holder which I posted to a flute musician’s site. There was interest, but what caught my attention was the response from Helen Yetman-Bellows of Helen’s Willow Wind. Helen's interest in my idea set forth a collaboration that resulted in a final design that not only incorporated a way to use different style mics but also added the ability to attach a wind guard. If you’re a flute player who enjoys playing outside you know that a windy day can affect the voice of the flute.
I hope these products will help to enhance your flute journey.
Happy Flute Playing!
